How this estimate is calculated

Room area: length × width. Metric lengths are converted to square feet for the box math.
Boxes: room area × (1 + waste ÷ 100) ÷ coverage per box, rounded up. Each box covers the amount printed on the box (sq ft or sq m).
Waste: extra material for cuts, starter rows, and defects—raise it for diagonal or herringbone layouts.
Cost planning: use your entered material price for each calculated unit (or converted paint package pricing), then add labor and contingency to produce the total budget range.
